Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary. ~ Margaret Cousins ~
Don’t let a good deed go unnoticed. Recognize the person and thank them as soon as possible. Smiling is the surest way to let people know that you truly appreciate what they’ve done and that they’ve made your life better.
It’s a feel-good nice to be appreciated. In return, we should all show some gratitude for what we have and how we are treated. Never forget to say thank you. A thank you should come automatically when given a gift, kind words, a caring action, help when we need it, and just about everything else.
Do you feel abundantly blessed? Then how about giving back and volunteering. Mentors are needed at so many levels. Children in schools could benefit from your help. The sick and injured in hospitals need blood donations, There are lots of opportunities for volunteering and you will be doing something to help others who need it.
Pay attention to all the small stuff happening around you that you can be grateful for. The fresh smell of nature, especially after a spring rain, a sunshine filled day, a beautiful sunrise, a smile from a stranger, someone holding the door, fresh flowers, things going right. There are so many, just take notice. If this isn’t a habit of yours, you might have to make an effort to reprogram your thinking. Your first step in reprogramming is to stop complaining and start noticing the good. If you are living with a mindset of entitlement, you probably will never appreciate what you have.
The more you appreciate, the more you will enjoy life. That doesn’t mean everything will go your way nor will everything come up roses. There are always those people who absolutely don’t want to be happy. Smile and move on. End your day with a positive thought, reflect on all you are thankful for, and know you are blessed.
